Fine Art and Conceptual Photography

Blah, blah, blah, boring artist statement goes here. I like making interesting photos. Hopefully, you like looking at them.

Institutional Space

This photo series takes a look at the forgot ton spaces in an academic institution. As thousands of students, staff, faculty, and others course through the buildings every day, each one leaves some sort of mark. Some are visible and obvious-graffiti, a forgotten hat, a coffee cup, and others are more ephemeral. In addition to these incidental, off-hand, and largely unintended marks, maintenance workers leave more intentional marks by painting over the graffiti, patching crumbling wall, and trying to keep poorly constructed buildings usable.

Me, Myself and I

This series of images explores the dynamics of an imaginary couple between two identical males, myself and a digital twin lover. Simultaneously exploring male and female gender roles, homosexual identity, masculinity and the ego, this series attempts to ask far more questions than it answers. Note: this series contains graphic sexual content. Viewer discretion is advised.

Route 1, Kittery to Fort Kent

In March of 2003, I traveled 1000 miles from my home in Old Town south to Kittery, north to Fort Kent, and then back South to Old Town. These are the photos from that trip.

Davis Homestead, Harmony Maine

Over a period of several months, I took many rolls of film of my parents and the home I grew up in. My parents built their home on 27 acres of land in the woods of Maine 30 years ago. Originally "off the grid", we got electricity and running water in 1995. Prior to that point, the only power was a small solar array, and water was via a dug well and a hand pump. My parents still grow a lot of their own food in their large garden, and the home is still heated with wood.
